Touch Health Attends World Health Assembly 2024, Supports Tanzania Ministry of Health
Touch will be at the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA), hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) from May 27 – June 1, 2024. The annual conference is an important opportunity for global health stakeholders to join in the assessment of where our collective work is headed, and to address shared challenges. Our Chief Program Officer, Valerio Parisi, will attend on Touch’s behalf.
In what is sure to be a highlight of the week, we are looking forward to supporting the Tanzania Ministry of Health’s Side Meeting on the Integrated and Coordinated Community Health Workers (ICCHW) Program. The meeting on Monday, May 27, will highlight the Government of Tanzania’s long-standing commitment to community health services and how that commitment has culminated in the ICCHW program that launched at the end of January of this year. The program, in deep alignment with Touch’s own strategic priorities, focuses on health sector capacity-building and improved health outcomes for rural communities.
The meeting will feature welcome remarks from Tanzania’s Minister of Health: Hon. Ummy Ally Mwalimu. The event’s program also includes panels and presentations on how the ICCHW program addresses critical healthcare delivery challenges and works towards the goal of achieving universal health coverage, all led by the public health and medical leaders in Tanzania. Additionally, the meeting will launch two new books on primary healthcare in Tanzania.
We are honored to attend as a champion for our long-standing partners at the Ministry of Health. For more information at Touch at the World Health Assembly in 2024, please reach out to development@touchhealth.org for more information.
